Peter Obi Commends Security Agencies for Recent Gains Against Terrorism and Banditry
Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has praised Nigerian security agencies for their recent successes in tackling terrorism, kidnappings, and banditry across the country. In a statement, Obi described these achievements as a significant step toward restoring peace and security for all citizens.
He lauded the courage and professionalism of officers and men in uniform, acknowledging the difficult conditions under which they operate. “Their sacrifices remind us that Nigeria can—and must—be safe for all its citizens,” Obi said, urging that security personnel be better equipped, trained, and motivated to sustain these gains.
While celebrating these victories, Obi emphasized the need for vigilance, warning that violent criminality thrives when justice is not served. He called for thorough prosecution of those arrested to prevent impunity and discourage recidivism.
“Let this victory remind us that security is the foundation of every meaningful development. A secure Nigeria is possible, and together we must support our security agencies with the right leadership, resources, and political will to end the reign of terror in our land,” Obi added.
He concluded on an optimistic note: “A New Nigeria is Possible.
