Former Presidential Candidate Peter Obi Mourns Passing of Alhaji Isyaku Ibrahim and Emir of Zuru
Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has expressed profound sorrow over the passing of two prominent Nigerian figures: Alhaji Isyaku Ibrahim, a respected business tycoon, politician, and philanthropist, and HRH Major General Muhammad Sani Sami, the Emir of Zuru. Alhaji Isyaku Ibrahim passed away in Abuja at the age of 88, while the Emir died in London at 81.
In a statement, Obi highlighted the immense contributions of both men. Alhaji Isyaku Ibrahim was renowned for his impact on Nigerian politics, business, and sports, notably through the founding of Mighty Jets Football Club. The Emir of Zuru, a revered military officer and traditional ruler, earned widespread respect for his leadership, wisdom, and dedication to his people across Kebbi State and beyond.
Obi extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased, as well as the people of Mangar, Wamba LGA, Zuru Emirate, and all communities touched by their legacies. He prayed for Allah’s mercy on their souls, urging Nigerians to honor their memories by promoting unity, peace, and national progress.
“May Allah grant them eternal rest and Aljannatul Firdaus,” Obi said.
