Nationwide Strike Looms Over Pension & Workers' Funds

Pension and social insurance contributions are a safety net for millions of Nigerian workers. Allegations of diversion and delayed oversight raise concerns about accountability and the long-term security of retirees and their families.

If the Federal Government fails to act within the ultimatum period, the NLC warns of a nationwide strike that could disrupt transportation, education, healthcare, and public services across Nigeria.

Nigerians have expressed mixed reactions on social media. While many support the NLC’s stance, others fear the economic impact of a prolonged strike.
