Tinubu Returns from Japan and Brazil, Promises Growth, Jobs, and a New Nigeria
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has returned to Nigeria after concluding official engagements in Japan and Brazil, where he held a series of high-level meetings aimed at strengthening the country’s international image and unlocking new opportunities for economic growth.
Speaking on his arrival, the President said his mission was clear – to restore Nigeria’s pride and dignity on the global stage while ensuring that international partnerships bring real benefits to citizens at home.
“In 2023, Nigerians entrusted me with the responsibility of restoring our pride and dignity globally. I remain fully committed to that mission. Every handshake, every agreement, and every meeting is guided by one goal: to secure opportunities that translate into growth, jobs, and prosperity for Nigerians,” Tinubu said.
During his visit to Japan, President Tinubu met with political and business leaders, focusing on deepening economic cooperation between both countries. Discussions covered areas such as technology, industry, and human capital development, with the aim of attracting long-term investments into Nigeria.
According to the President, Japan’s technological strength and Nigeria’s youthful population provide a natural opportunity for collaboration that can boost innovation and skills transfer.
He explained that part of his administration’s strategy is to create an enabling environment where investors feel confident in Nigeria’s reforms and long-term growth plans.
From Asia, the President proceeded to Brazil, where he also held a series of engagements covering trade, agriculture, aviation, and finance. He noted that Brazil and Nigeria share deep historical and cultural ties, which provide a strong foundation for more meaningful cooperation.
President Tinubu stressed that partnerships with Brazil would not only enhance agricultural production and food security but also open new trade routes and investment opportunities.
In addition, he met with Nigerian business leaders in Brazil to encourage them to continue investing in the country’s economy and to reassure them that reforms being introduced at home are designed to ensure stability and growth.
The President used the opportunity to emphasize his administration’s vision of a new Nigeria that is built on sustainable reforms rather than temporary solutions or political promises.
“This is the new Nigeria we are building together – a Nigeria that is confident abroad, resilient at home, and determined to create value for every citizen, at home and in the diaspora,” he declared.
